Metropolitan Congregations United (MCU) is St. Louis’ premier social justice organization, working to improve the welfare of our neighbors. Across the city we are people of different faiths who strive to live out God’s call for justice.

At Second Presbyterian Church, we are a committee of active members working to focus the work of our church on important social justice matters. Our tie to MCU is through its north-city cluster, 22 congregations strong, known as Congregations Allied for Community Improvement (CACI). We tackle issues such as Economic Redevelopment in St. Louis’ north side, Drop-out Prevention (keeping kids in school through graduation), Job Equity for minority workers and businesses, and job training for our underemployed workers.
