Dear Congregational Family,
1. SWAP Retreat: This weekend our middle school youth will be at a retreat at Seneca Hills Bible Camp. Please be in prayer for them, that the Lord would move in their hearts and that this would be a faith formational weekend for them. Vicar Czymbor will be the speaker this year. Pray also for Brandon and the adults who minister to our youth.
2. Your place at the building site! We are continuing to study through the highlights of Ezra-Nehemiah during our adult Sunday school class. This week we will be looking at chapter 3 and the rebuilding of the wall around the city of Jerusalem. As we encounter people building next to their own homes, areas of interest and according to their personal resources; consider where and how has God called you to be building in regards to our church?
As we build together, pray about your place in the building ministry! This might be a beginning preparation step for you for our stewardship focus this fall. Early in November, you will be receiving a Time & Talent Sheet as well as a Pledge Card to help you pray and respond to God’s call to you to engage in the ministry of our church.
Ezra-Nehemiah are some of the most overlooked books in Scripture, and also some of the most informative regarding the “Regathering, Renewing, Rebuilding, Restoring, Reforming, and Re-engaging” period of the Jewish people. The books are also very applicable for today in regards to the life of the Church in a culture that that has experienced great upheaval and change. Come share in the discussion as we move forward into this new season of mission at Ruthfred!
God bless you as we continue,
“Growing Together in our Faith as the Family of God.”
