Dear Congregational Family,
1. Voting Day: As you well know, today is voting day. We have a tremendous freedom and responsibility to vote as citizens and as Christians! Along with your vote, please also “cast your prayers upon the Lord” that God would by His sovereign and mysterious hand be at work in orchestrating the leadership for our nation. The Apostle Paul repeatedly writes of the need for Christians to be in prayer for the leaders of the nation.
(I Timothy 2:1,2; Romans 13)
2. International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church: Last Sunday was not only All Saints Sunday but also International Day of Prayer for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering, sacrificing and being executed around the world. In the message I quoted from Richard Wurmbrand who was held in a Communist prison for many years, and after his ransom and release came to the U.S. to found a mission (Voice of the Martyrs) to help persecuted Christians around the world. I would encourage you to read his autobiography – “Tortured for Christ.”
3. Nominating Committee: Please be in prayer of our church Nominating Committee as they are in the process of contacting potential nominees for Council. These individuals will be voted on by the congregation at our Congregational Meeting in January.
4. Congregational Meeting on Nov. 18th: On Sunday, the 18th, we will be having our annual Fall Congregational Meeting which follows both services for the purpose of approving the 2019 Church Budget. You will be receiving a copy of it in advance later this week or early next week, along with a letter from our church treasurer.
Praise God for His wonderful work in our midst!
God bless you as we continue,
“Growing Together in our Faith as the Family of God.”
